Apec’s 2017 executive recruitment forecast has just come out and is breaking new records. A situation that should continue and even improve in 2018 and 2019. But what really hide these results? Cadremploi tells you everything.
Uneven growth across sectors and functions:
The main reasons for this dynamic are the continuation of investments, particularly in research and development, and the need for management and expertise to accompany the major transformations, digital and energy companies. It is therefore not surprising that IT activities, R & D engineering, and legal and accounting activities, consulting and business management are the most recruiting sectors in France. They account for 96,140 recruitment, or nearly one in two recruitment. We can see that some sectors are falling, such as generalist distribution or communication and the media.
As with the sectors, there are functions that take almost all the recruiters’ needs. This is not new, it is the computer functions that will be the most sought after. With forecasts of between 46,000 and 51,000 hires, this should represent about a quarter of the hires of the year. Business functions and HR studies complete the podium of the trades with the most needs.
Experienced executives, but not too
On the profile of their future recruits, employers are fairly unanimous. They want experienced talents (and therefore operational immediately), but not too much (not to be expensive). In terms of numbers, this gives more than 110,000 recruitment on experienced executives with 1 to 10 years of experience, again more than one in two recruitment.
Acknowledging that, according to the Apec panel, the profiles of 6 to 10 years of experience will be the most prized. It is more complicated on the other hand for candidates with more than 20 years of experience. But the study says that they could still benefit from growth when recruiters find themselves facing stressful functions. A lot of consolation seems very thin and uncertain.
The Isle of France still in the lead
Apec has also been interested in recruitment forecasts from a regional perspective. All metropolitan areas are expected to grow recruitment’s. And without surprise, with the presence of many large headquarters and a web of very dense IT activities, the Île-de-France leads with almost half of the hires.
Forecasts 2017 in line with the 2016 balance sheet
The Apec 2017 forecasts are the continuation of all the trends observed in 2016. The past year has indeed been very positive for the employment of executives with 204,000 Hiring, 12% more than in 2015. This success is due in particular to lower oil prices, low interest rates, the impact of the CICE and the Pact of responsibility. In total, 45 3,000 senior posts have been created. This gives hope and confidence … for some.
