The judicature of Islamic Republic of Pakistan (پاکستان کی عدلیہ) is a hierarchical and gradable system along with two classes of courts:
the superior (or higher) judiciary and the subordinate (or lower) judiciary. The premium judiciary is composed of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Federal Government Shariat Court (Jobs) and five High Courts, with the Supreme Court at the apex. There is a High Court for each of the 4 provinces of Pakistan (Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, KPK) along with a High Court for the Islamabad Capital Region. The Constitution of Pakistan delegates and entrusts the superior judiciary with the obligation to protect and maintain, protect and defend the constitution.Neither the Supreme Court nor a High Court may exercise legal system in regard to Tribal Areas, apart from otherwise provided for. The contested areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit– Baltistan have separate court systems.
